Squaresofts plot to take over the world

Recommended Posts

Yes this is very true SquareSoft is trying to take over the world. How may you ask? Through or minds. Many of you dont know that recently SquarSoft has merged with anti depressants. The reason for this for mind conditioning. Square plans to make games so depressing that us gamers will have to start taking there anti- depressants. Which have there "special" ingrediant to turn us all into helpless earth slaves. Then Square will then use there new army to take over. Dont believe me look at the facts. ff8 Just watch the ending Squalls all alone. ff9 Zidane has a horibble way of hitting on Dagger. Thus making gamers realize how annoying they are to girls. And finall ffx Plain and simple it just gets more depressing as you go. So in conclusion X-2 will have many negitive effects on us(atb is back no sommuns ect ect). My guess is we wont make it past ff14

...you forgot Final Fantasy X andKingdom Hearts; the two most depressing games on the face of the Earth! What's even crueler, is that they make the games addicting, so you have to watch the endings and go, "Oh fuck", and then slit your wrists to see color.

Infact, FFX and KH is a dpression double wammy in that I beat FFX and was like, "Wah sad", so I went to play KH cause how are you gonna make a disney game depressing (not crappy, depressing). Then I beat it and now I have to have attendents on me so I don't go on a murderous rampage.

SquareEnix! You are evil!

Well, that's true--but remember, it's FF8, and the game itself was one big letdown. At least Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was a LITTLE difficult. A little. FF8 was crap. So having a depressing ending... well, it happens.

Hell, watch any anime out there, and you'll see where they get these ideas for depressing endings. Yeah. I guess that Japanese culture just thrives on saddening letdowns and such. Or something like that.

So in conclusion X-2 will have many negitive effects on us(atb is back no sommuns ect ect). My guess is we wont make it past ff14

Eh. In my humble opinion, which I shall now share with you, FFX-2 will be crap. I like italicizing the word crap, because it shows emphasis.

Anyway, they took the demure, softspoken summoner and made her Lara Croft. Daisy dukes, low-slung hip holsters, bare midriff shirt, guns, the whole nine yards. What the hell? For one, Final Fantasy... even Squaresoft games in general are not meant to have sequels. Each game can stand on its own, has a great plot, and is fun to play.

Well, excluding FF8, again, but we won't go there. Um... again.

Anyhoo, the great thing about the Final Fantasy series is that you don't have to play all the games to understand the whole story. They're each a different story. Each one has different characters and a different premise. When you try to stretch the storyline to include a sequel and maintain continuity (after the finalization of the plot), well, you get Chrono Cross. I need not say more.

Final Fantasy... hell, Square has gone downhill of late. FF7 broke from tradition and had you explore more than just dungeons and a worldmap, which was good innovation. FF8 tried to do the same thing, but tried to rework summoning with that Guardian Force crap and turned out a stinker because of it. FFTactics was a wonderful step away from traditional CRPGs, and a great game. FF9 I've never played, though the Black Mage is back and I'm at least happy about that. FFX... maybe one of these days.

But X-2? No. I'd get Tomb Raider if I wanted Lara Croft, not Final Fantasy. Plus, the spectre of continuity will REALLY rear its ugly head when you start out at Level 1 again... or whatever you start out at. CRPGs don't work with sequels, unless they're like the Kickboxer movies and all the previous characters die for some reason. But not if they're like Chrono Cross, where that happens but in a crapful manner.

As for XI, hell no. I don't really dig MMORPGs, because, well, the RP element is not there. Diablo II. Everquest. Helbreath. UO. How much roleplay is there? Do you interact with other players like they're elves and dwarves and you're struggling toward a common goal, or do you grab everything you can of the ground from kills, spam the chat channels looking for a specific item, PK and spend entire sessions trading gear?

Well, everybody else does. Crap. That's what it is.

Square kinda lost me after FF8, and the only thing that might bring me back is the Gauntlet-styled Crystal Chronicles. I'll probably give that a shot.

Have a nice day!

Hey! No more FFVIII bashing! It had a good plot and is fun to play. If you want it to be hard, you can make it hard... I think. I don't really like to make things hard on myself ;).

VIII's battle system isn't all that bad, although getting the stuff for the junction system is annoying, but not all that much more then BREEDING CHOCOBOS or RACING MOTHERFUCKING CHOCOBOS.

Being someone who hates themself, I will be picking up X-2 very soon after it comes out. I love X to death, and I can only hope they make X-2 half as fun.

That said, it is very likely that X-2 will bite boner, beacuse as SuperSeph said, they tok away the kick ass CTB and replaced it with the oled decreping (and fucking annoying) ATB. THe reason I like X as much as I do is because it goes fast. Gaining levels is not as big of a pain as ANY other Final Fantasy. I mean, Your in, your out, you get your points. Whoooo! How do you go from that to the clunky WAIT FOR FUCKING EVER ATB.

The best and definitive example of pure evil at the hands of Square is the CTB in FF9. Oh my God, what the hell happened there?! It takes almost 20 seconds before the first hit is made! You'd be finished with a _regular_ fight in X by then, not to mention a fight after you'd been in the area for a while. Really, IX is slow as fuck and the ATB (and the PSX as well, kinda) is to blame. And the ending sucks. How the _HELL_ are you gonna put an in game FMV mix for the final sceen?? That pissed me off. Then most of the rest of the game was in game cinematics too. I swear to god, that sucked as well.

Best thing out of 9 was Kuja, and Dagger, I guess. Both were hot :D.

But I wont get into my insane love for Kuja, or my video game derived self hate.

The matter at hand is, why is Square trying to make all of us deppresive pill poppers? VIII is the only Final Fantasy that leaves you with a warm feeling inside after you beat it. You go "awww" and shit. Plus, they had that thing with the video cam during the credits. That was good. In VII (which was _easier_ then VIII in my opinion) you don't know if (spoiler!!!11) anyone was actually saved from meteor, and then you see Aeris's dead asss. We don't need that! Cloud just started to get cozey with Tifa! Homey don't play that! Square intentionally is fucking with us. Oh, and they didn'n show Yuffie or Vincent in FMV form. Fuck them.

Anyway, I want 'ol badger to weight in on this, because he knows more then I on the older Final Fantasys. He can tell us (at least for 6) what square tryed to do to us there.

I need my pills.

...Oh, I forgot. Yeah, Black Mages play a big role in FFIX, but there role is fucking dpressing, aint that right SuperSeph?

On the subject of black mages, there will never be a better black mage then Lulu. END OF STORY. Sqaure has set the bar pretty damn high on that. I mean, really. A buxom Pseuto goth chick that has that crazy belt thing and stockings. I mean, that's a sexy growl waiting to happen.

Excuse me for a moment.

Ah yes, *growwwwl*

There we go.

Hey! No more FFVIII bashing! It had a good plot and is fun to play.

Hey, I'll bash FF8 if I want to. :D It's my sworn duty.

I'll be the first to admit that FF8 did some neat things... the summonable monsters did more than just hit things (they protected you and helped you even when you hadn't summoned them), but they made it way too freaking easy. Unless you had some major, high-damage super effective spell to use, you use the GF. It has more HP than you do, it does more damage with its attacks, you DON'T have to try to get the damn Gunblade's timing down (though the Gunblade is definitely cool), and it's free. So why bother ever fighting again?

Then, there was the random card game they threw in because... hell, I don't know why they did. It's pointless, arduous, and has nothing to do with the game. It's like a side quest minus the quest.

VII wasn't exactly hard, either, though Emerald Weapon was a bugger and there were a couple of times where you had to be on top of things. Like that really big snake in the desert that you had to cross. He was hard the first time I crossed, anyway. Sephiroth was annoyingly easy to beat in his super form, though. Kinda anticlimactic.

Of course, FF7 had a really big sword. You almost can't go wrong there. Breeding and racing chocobos, while goofy, at least got you money and the ability to pick up a couple of items you couldn't get otherwise, via your Black Chocobo. Did those damn cards ever do that for you? :D

I like FFT the best of all the new ones, because there's NO FMV. There's "cutscenes" of sorts that use the game engine, but that's it. ;)

Just for the sake of clarity, Mr. Glitch, what, pray tell, are CTB and ATB? Obviously, it has something to do with the timing of the battle, but that's all I can garner.

Have a nice day!

Yes Yes we can all go through bashing diffrent final fantasies but the fact of the matter istheir trying to confuse us with there diffrent games. ff7 was great ff8 could have been alot better exept for exploding things with your gunblade, ff9 had a bad story line that can be summed up in 4 steps and finally ffx was the next best thing. However you may put it Squares now moving to its next step in their plans for domination. Confusing the players. They will do this simple tactic by making the ending really really depressing but before you beat ityou will feel happy but after watching the ending you will feel depressed. So x-2 the question goes out will it be crap? My answer most likely yes. Lulus prgnant (and she was hot) Yuna's become a whore Auoron's not there the atb is back and summons are gone. Due to one reason that really really fucking easy boss Yu Yevon. So plain and simply put just playing squares games is just another roller coaster ride. Nothing much we gamers can do because if we go complain nothing will happen.

And the hard weapon for ff7 was ruby not emerald

Oh yes and one more thing i forgot to add yes it is true squares games are going downhill but one thing we forgot to look at is the challenge in the games. I will note now that i havent played ff 1,2 and i need to beat 4 still. ff5 X-Death in the psx version they actually made him easier to be the only diffrence is he does'nt use Ranibow Wind 2 (instant stone and death on 1 character) 2-3 times a turn. ff6 had kefka and the 4 goddess statues when i played him at lv 99 and with the best weapons he still kicked my ass like 20 times. ff7 now this was THE BEST BOSS EVER what can i say tryed to destroy the world has a twelve foot sword and just looks cool plus hes manipulative like a bitch. ff8 Ultimicia what a crazy boss i really can explain it just fight her. However she does have greiver. ff9 necron jesus fucking christ i hated him can cause every status effect and is just a plan out pain. Just wait till he uses grand cross like 4 times in a row (if you can survive through 3). Finally comes ffx im not gonna go fully into this beacuse you automaticall have auto life casted on you. Your chances of losing to him are the same as proving Micheal Jackson doesnt have a "Magical Van" for child. As you can see the bosses for the ff's are starting to go down hill too. And as we all know those optional bosses in every ff are at least 50 times harder than the final boss.

Okay, so Ruby was harder, but Emerald wasn't exactly a picnic. Especially when he gets pissed off because you hit him with a big magic attack (quadra-summoning Knights of the Round and then miming it with another character whilst the third party member fires off a quadra-magic Odin, for example) and decides to EAT you. :P

And like I said, unhappy endings seem to be part of the Japanese culture. And sure, they've tried to take over the world their share of times, so your theory makes sense. But it's nothing new. :P

EDIT: Also, yes, the minibosses/side quest villains are much, much harder to beat than the normal ones. And that's a general rule, and it's been that way since the Warmech bridge in FF1. Geez, those guys were a pain. And they weren't even bosses. :P

Anyway, the bosses have been going downhill... I remember a couple of times in FF5 where I got stuck because I'd made it too far for my own good. Some bosses were easier than others (but still theoretically too high of a level for me to be fighting at that point), but I could beat them through a lot of strategy and the occassional reset-reload. But later on, they were MAJOR buggers. Major major, major!

Once again, I digress. The bosses do seem to be getting easier, and the stories stupider (and the premises? CRAP! :P), but they're making some new forays into different realms of roleplay--the Gauntlet-style Crystal Chronicles and the aforementioned MMORPG FFXI. At least they're trying new stuff... maybe they've also figured out that they've begun to slide.

Or maybe they're just exploring new avenues with which they can export greater amounts of game-related suckage. Bleh.

Have a nice day!

To honestly say that Square is trying a new method of boring the hell out of us is true. But still i havent havent been able to beat ruby weapon but emerald jeez it was easy. I mean i beat him with about 5 min left and without using materia. Now if we look at other games particularly for the snes we got some good old classic rpg's. Now since the rpg's on snes we start to see the downhill factor. (the landsilde theroy) for snes we have ff6 ff3 secret of mana terainigma ect. now going on to the n64 which should never have an rpg had quest 64. What the hell where they thinking. moving on to psx we get ff9 no comment there (cough kuja cough). But as bad as some rpg's seem we all forget about those undrated ones Skies of arcadia, Star Ocean. Why did these become so good cause the team actually worked not like the leader of the ion storm team naed some odd John R. So if you have the time just go out and check for some of them.

And i know this is completely off the topic but what the hell is going on with the re series thier best one was re code veronica.

Okay, it's established that despite their cutometr abuse, at least the main core of all Final Fantasy games are addicting. But what about the fucking mini games? I'm not a fan of _anything_ chocobo related. Breeding is fucking tedious, the chocobo game fort the pocket station from FF8 looked like it would get on your Nervs, the on from IX honostly was the best, and most rewarding... (well, not more then 7, but come on, KOTR).

Now, the chocobo game from FFX.

.

..

...

AHHHHHRGGGGGH

I HATE the Chocobo mini game in X. Who the fuck designed this thing, hitler's dead zombie brain?? It's like fucking anal rape in a dvd. And not some crazy porn DVD, and video game DVD. For the PS2. Just so we're clear.

Whose fucking idea was it that you needed to get _LESS THEN ZERO_ on the timer to get the item needed to upgrade the calderod(or whatever.)

It's cock sucking hard. I got it ONCE through like, magic green lepricaun luck, and now I owe someone my first born. But I don't know whoo.

Fuck. Chocobos are cunts.

As many gamers know who have played ffx the mini games are tedious (dodging 200 consecutive lightning bolts chocobo racing butterfly catcher blitzball and the cactaur hunt.)To put it very simple some mini games are getting worse and worse. It all started in ff8 with the card game triple triad. in order to get all the cards (a tedious task that i did just to 100% the game for my satisfication) i actually broke my controller with my sword. What would cause such a rage in me. The fucking rules. the one that absolutely pissed me off was random. Very self explanitory. FF9 was no walk in the park either with their game tatra master. A supposid upgrade in the card game. In many of my first duels i won by pure blind luck. they dont even tell you what the numbers represtent and the cards actually level up. Plus just collecting and 100 cards would cause your brain to explode filling your room with blood and brainjuice. So yes squares ideas for fun seem to have very low priorities. To tell you the honest truth i would rather be punched in the balls numerous time instead of having to deal with those card games.
